"Three Ball Stars With Havana Reds - Watkins Will Bring Strong Line-Up for Game With Locals Sunday - When John 'Pop' Watkins escorts his troupe of colored baseball warriors to this city Sunday to engage in a game with the All-Watertown team at Garland city park in the afternoon at 3, he will have on his roster three new men who have been recently acquired form star colored teams of the metropolis. During the past several days the genial dusky manager has been severely handicapped by the loss of a few of his players as a result of injuries and he found it necessary to dicker with several colored players with New York teams. Charles Culver and D. Bailey who have played with the Lincoln Giants, fastest nine in New York City, have been added to the Havana Red Sox while Wells of the Bacharach Giants of Atlantic City, who is an outfielder of note, is also now attached to the line-up of the colored Sox. Charles Culver is a shortstop while D. Bailey covers the hot corner."
