"High Pockets, Star with Black Bears - During the absence of the Fort Worth Panthers on their second invasion of the South, Panther Park will be occupied practically every day by teams in the Texas Negro League. The first team to come will be the San Antonio Black Bears, who open a three-game series this afternoon at 4:30. High Pockets, the lengthy first baseman of the Bears, has long been a drawing card with white as well as negro fans. Part of the grandstand will be reserved for white patrons."

Score, 5 to 4. Harris of Fort Worth held the Broncos to five hits, while his teammates were getting to Williams for six, which, coupled with four errors, accounted for five runs. The same teams will meet at Panther Park Monday and Tuesday afternoons."

Harris for the Panthers held the Broncos to five hits, while his teammates were getting to Williams for six, which couple with four errors accounted for the five runs."

Mitchell - The credit of this game is given to McClure, owing to his holding the Panthers to three hits. The remarkable playing of Jones in Center Field were features; which saved the Broncos from losing their second game with the Panthers. McClure was too much today for home running Spearman, he only made 2 hits."

"Black Panthers Get Verdict in Game with Black Broncs - The Black Panthers celebrated Emancipation Day with a hard-earned 7 to 6 victory over the San Antonio Black Broncs. To accomplish the feat the local team overcame a six-run lead made by the visitors in the early part of the game. Harris of Fort Worth pitched good ball after the fourth inning. Heavy hitting by Johnson Hill and C. White turned the tide in favor of Fort Worth. The same teams play again Sunday afternoon at Panther Park. First place in the Texas Negro League hangs in the balance as a result of the present series."
