Lincolns. - Teams Will Resume Series at Olympic Field Today. - The Royal Giants and the Lincoln Giants will continue their little world's series struggle at Olympic Field on Sunday when they clas in their ninth and tenth games. The Royals evened matters a fortnight ago by winning, 9 to 2 and 7 to 5, but at the time the Lincolns were without the services of their star hurler, Cyclone Joe Williams. Williams will pitch this Sunday against Lefty Harvey. With Williams on the mound the Lincolns feel confident they will turn the tables on their rivals today. "Watkins Angling for Gif M'Donald - To Twirl Game Against the Stars, Sunday - At Garland City Park - Lincoln Giant Hurler Would Show the State League Nine High Class Pitching and Would Probably Walk Away With Victory. - Pop Watkins, venerable pilot of the Havana Red Sox, is angling or Gifford McDonald, a former star twirler of the colored aggregation, to hurl this Sunday afternoon at Garland City Park, against the Syracuse Stars. This will be the last time that the colored clan will meet the State League nine this season. McDonald, Watkins' former star slab artist, left the Red Sox aat Gouverneur, the latter part of July for New York City to join the Lincoln Giants at that city. McDonald was one of the best pitchers that Pop ever carried on his hurling corps and had been on the staff for the past eight or ten years. Before Mac left for the metropolis he had been pitching high class ball and his effectiveness in the pinches was most noticeable. If Pop succeeds in inducing the Lincoln Giant moundsman to take a trip north, it is a foregone conclusion that the Stars will leave the Park Sunday with a defeat against them. Pop is now awaiting an answer from the colored heaver. McDonald pitched a game at New York City against the Royal Giants Sunday. Arrangements are also being made to have the same teams play this Saturday at Gouverneur."
