"The Texas Colored League - Mapping Out Season's Course - Good Baseball Cities for a Circuit. - Fort Worth, Texas. - Special to the Freeman: The Texas Colored League met at Fort Worth, Texas, Tuesday, March 3, 1914, in the office of the president, Hiram McGar. The league reorganized by electing the following officers: Hiram McGar, Fort Worth, president: J.E. Tarver, Shreveport, first vice-president; Bob Carruth, Wichita Falls, second vice-president; Theodore Graves, Waco, secretary; Jim Williams, Paris, treasurer. The following teams were represented at the league meeting: Wichita Falls, Waco, Fort Worth, Dallas, Paris, and Shreveport. The league will have another meeting Tuesday, March 24, at Shreveport, Louisiana to fix dates for opening and making a schedule. The president appointed the following schedule committee, vi: A.S. Wells, Dallas Joe Patterson, Fort Worth; Bob Carruth, Wichita Falls; Jim Williams, Paris, J.E. Tarver, Shreveport."
