"Howards Team Plays - Meets Colored Semi-pro Team of Brooklyn on Campus Tomorrow. - On Howard campus tomorrow afternoon the noted Brooklyn Royal Giants, fresh from a successful tour of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, will meet the Howard University baseball team in what promises to be a good game. The Royal Giants are the best of the colored semi-pros, and the Howard University team is the champion colored college nine, the latter having made a record last spring of fourteen games won and one lost on their annual trip through Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina."

"Royal Giants to Play Here. - Crack Colored Baseball Team will Clash Tomorrow at Howard Field. - The Howard University baseball team will meet the well-known Royal Giants tomorrow afternoon on Howard campus. The Howard team holds the championship of the colored colleges, by virtue of her wonderful record of last spring, when she played the colleges of Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina and lost only one game. The Royal Giants of Brooklyn are the best of the colored semi-pros and are known throughout the country for their brilliant playing. Their pitching staff is composed of such stars as Redding, Wickware, Dismukes and Wade, and this quartet forms the strongest staff of its kind in the country. Redding, with twenty-five strikeouts in one game, holds the world's record. He also holds a 3-to-2 victory over the New York Gaints, the champions of the National League. Wickware is also recognized as one of the best hurlers in the country. The receiving end will be well taken care of by the hard-hitting Booker and Webster."

"Brooklyn Giants Win. - Trounces Howard University Nine in Extra-inning Game. - The Brooklyn Royal Giants defeated Howard University in an eleven-inning game yesterday, 8 to 7. The game was fast and exciting and was featured by the masterful pitching of Frank Sykes, for the University boys, and the batting of L. Sykes, Bullet, and Lytle. Wickware and Dismukes both performed well for the visitors in the box."

"Two Games at Olympic Field. - A good card has been arranged for the opening of Sunday baseball games tomorrow. The Royal Giants will clash in a double bill tomorrow afternoon. In the curtain raiser the Royals will face the Stamford team, while the final game will be with the crack Chester nine."
